Jackson, Lake, Mohican and Perry Townships became part of Ashland County, Ohio when it was formed in 1846. Part of Paint and Salt Creek Townships and Washington and Prairie Townships became part of Holmes County, Ohio when it was formed in 1825. Part of Prairie Township became Ripley Township, Holmes County, Ohio.
