==Comprehensive History==

Evangelical Lutheran Christ Church located at 245 South Grant Street, [[Wooster, Ohio|Wooster]] was established in 1819 as the Church of Peace.  Buildings were erected in 1820 and 1838.  The name changed from Church of Peace to The German Lutheran and Reformed Church of Wooster.  In 1869 the name changed to Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church.  Sources found for this church were Church Histories of Wayne County Ohio, Wipert, History of Wayne County, Ohio, Ben Douglas, 1878, History of Wayne County, Ohio, B.F. Bowen & Co., 1910, Vol. 1, page 252 and Wooster Daily Record, 6 Sep 1948.
