Several years ago, we had a volunteers look through newspapers for divorce petitions.  This index is a compilation of those divorces found listed in the [[Wayne County, Ohio]] [[Newspapers|newspapers]] from 1822 through 1935.  This is not a complete index of the divorces.

Several years ago, we had volunteers look through newspapers for divorce petitions.  This index is a compilation of those divorces found listed in the [[Wayne County, Ohio]] [[Newspapers|newspapers]] from 1822 through 1935.  This is not a complete index of the divorces.  There is no single source to locate divorces in Wayne County, Ohio prior to the formation of the Domestic Relations Court in 1914. Divorces may be found in Common Pleas Supreme Court through 1852 or in a variety of court journals until 1914.
