...Mr. Stair is a son of the honored pioneer John Stair who came to this country from Germany, and was among the early settlers in Wayne county. His (John Stair) other sons, prominent citizens are Mathew, Frederick and Casper Stair, residents of Plain township. David was born Dec. 31, 1831, on the home farm three miles west of Jefferson, Plain township. In April 1861, he united in marriage with Mary Ann Rouch, who has all along the intervening years from then to now been his good helpmate. Their unions was blessed with four sons and one daughter. Their children are John Stair married to Miss Ella Repp, daughter of Daniel Repp, home in Medina county; Henry C. Stair, unmarried, residing in Greensburg, PA; V. and V. Stair, the twin sons, married to the twin sisters Miss Irena and Miss Idena Repp, living in Greensburg, PA., where the men are employed in Kelly & Jones Steel Works; Miss Lilly M. Stair, who remains at home with her parents...[1]
