Biography

Charles Haupert was born in 1858 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. His father died when he was a young lad. He was the oldest of many children. Upon the death of his father, much of the welfare of the family landed on his shoulders. He persevered and eventually attended and graduated from the He'delberg University. He secured a teaching position shortly thereafter. He came to Wooster, Ohio in Spring 1893 when he was offered and accepted the position of Superintendent of the Wooster Public Schools. He remained in this position until his resignation in 1907. He died in Wapakoneta, Auglaize County, Ohio on 27 January 1909. He was buried in Gnadenhutten, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
