It is unknown when the Bert Christine home may have originally been built. In the 1850 U.S. Census for Wooster, Ohio, there are two Simon Christine families. Both of the gentlemen are listed as carpenters. No street addresses were given in the early U.S. Census Records. In the 1870-1871 Directory [1] for Wooster, there are two Christine families residing on "Beaver street".

In the 1870 U.S. Census for Wooster City, First Ward, Simon Christine is listed as age 54, born in Pennsylvania, and worked as a carpenter. The value of his real estate was $5700 and personal estate was $437. With him are his wife, Elizabeth, age 55, keeping house, born in Pennsylvania; James, age 21, born in Ohio, House Painter; Thomas, age 18, born in Ohio, Cabinet Maker; and Perry, age 18, born in Ohio, laborer. No street address is given.

In the 1873 and 1897 Caldwell's Atlas, Simon Christine owns lot 1893 on South Bever St.

In the 1880 U.S. Census for Wooster, 1st Ward, Cimon [sic] Christine is listed as residing on Bever St. No house number is given. He is age 64; his wife, Elizabeth is age 65; son Perry is age 22; and two grandsons are living with the family. The two grandsons are Bertram Christine, age 12 and James Christine, age 10.
