Headquarters and registration of comrades, their ladies and other relatives accompanying them, will be in the Senate Chamber, State House.

The Eighth Ohio Volunteer Infantry was commanded by the late Colonel Curtis V. Hard of Wooster. The regiment was organized at Akron, April 26, 1898. It participated in the expedition which resulted in the capture of Santiago de Cuba and was a part of the Fifth Army Corps which composed the troops chosen for that campaign. The regiment was composed of these units: Company A, Bucyrus; Company B, Akron; Company C, Polk; Company D, Wooster; Company E, East Liverpool; Company F, Canton; Company G, Wadsworth; Company H, Shreve; Company I, Canton; Company K, Alliance; Company L, Canton; Company M, Mansfield, Band, Akron; Hospital Corps, from various company stations. The regiment was taken to Cuba on the steamer St. Paul, which was commanded by Captain George Sigsbee, former commander of the ill-fated Maine. The regiment was mustered out of the United States service at Wooster, Ohio, Nov. 21, 1898.
