This document is a notice given by Frank Gerlach to the members of Company D of the Eighth Ohio Volunteer Infantry on November 7th, 1898. The notice orders the members to assemble and prepare for muster out. The document is the tenth page in the Gerlach file.

Company Orders Number 6. WOOSTER, OHIO, November 7, 1898

The members of this command are hereby ordered to assemble at the Ar-

mory on Thursday, Nov. 10, 1898, at 9 o’clock a. m., to comply with general

orders number 47, Headquarters 8th Regiment O. V. I.

The members of Co. D have been given permission to sleep at their homes

during the muster out of Regiment, but the daily routine must be observed.

Those who desire to sleep at the barracks should provide themselves with

straw ticks.

Those who are too sick to report must furnish a certificate of a reputable

physician.

Upon the honorable muster out and discharge from the service of the United States all volunteer soldiers, desiring to do so, are authorized to re- tain their arms and accoutrements upon the value thereof being carved to them on the muster-out rolls at the following rates:

It is important that Co. D make as good a showing as possible during muster out. Each man should appear in blue uniform, leggings, campaign hat and blue shirt. Co. D crossarms should be worm on the left side of campaign hat.

Men not having blue uniform can from Quartermaster Sergeant Limb se- cure the loan of a State uniform : crossarms and campaign hats can also be bought there.

Rifles and sidearms will be kept in the gun cases at the Armory.

Every member of Co. D is requested to bring all the straw ticks they can get to the Armory for the use of the Regiment.
