Comprehensive History

Congress Lutheran Church was located in the northwest corner of northeast Section 33 in, Congress Township (just south of Congress). The land was deeded to Church Trustees on 14 December 1829 per Wayne County Land Deeds, Volume 34, page 512. The only other source found for this church was The Beginnings of Wayne County in 1812, Richard Smith (compiler), page 34.
