Pittsburgh, Ft. Wayne, Chicago Depot in Wooster, Ohio

On August 10, 1852 at 4:10 p.m., approximately 600 passengers arrived at the Ohio and Pennsylvania Railroad depot just east of downtown Wooster, Ohio. Of these 600 passenger, 500 were guests from the "Pittsburg, Allegheny City, and other towns" along the railroad. There was a huge celebration with approximately 10,000-15,000 cheering on the arrival of the train (Wayne County Democrat August 19, 1852 p. 2). In 1856 the name was changed to the Pittsburgh, Ft. Wayne, & Chicago Railroad.
