Comprehensive History

"It was in this building, the second brick house built in Wooster more than 150 years ago, that the city's founders met and planned for the future," wrote Elinor Taylor in her 1964 Daily Record article[1]. Built by city founder William Larwill, the two-story brick house stood on the northwest corner of Liberty and Bever streets until its poor condition slated it for demolition "as a safety measure" in the mid-1960s.
