The Shack, oftentimes simply referred to as Shack,[1] was a well-loved institution located at 437 E. Pine St.. It was operated by Bill Syrios (known as William Syriopoulos until shortening the family name in the 1940's [2]) until his death in 1957 [3] Under his care, the Shack grew from a cafe to a restaurant [4] and earned its reputation as a "home away from home" for many College of Wooster students [5].
