Comprehensive History
St. Paul's Lutheran Church located at 777 South Summit Street, Smithville was established in 1842 as St. Paul’s. The German Reformed and Lutheran congregations worshipped in the Presbyterian Church until 1851 when they moved to 292 East Main Street. Sometime shortly after 30 August 1865, the Lutheran and Reformed congregations separated and the Lutheran congregation retained the name of St. Paul's.
