- 1887 - The bank was organized under the National Banking laws of the United States, in 1871. Its present stock and surplus combined is now $78,400, and in its appointments and executive ability will compare favorably with the leading institutions of its class in our leading cities. It has ample and well-secured vaults, with one of the latest improved double burglar-proof and time-lock safes for the care of securities. A regular banking business is transacted in the issue of currency according to the national banking system, the prompt attention to collections, discounts, exchange, deposits, etc.; in its list of depositors and certificate holders are found a large share of the leading business houses of this cit, as well as farmers, manufacturers, tradesmen and capitalists of various sections of this and other counties.
