Comprehensive History
The Memorial Hall building once located on S. Buckeye street in Wooster, Ohio was built about 1853. It served a multitude of purposes in its lifetime, but most notable are its use first as an elementary school, then a meeting place for patriotic organizations. It was said that no other building in Wooster has heard the Pledge of Allegiance more often than the walls of Memorial Hall. The building was destroyed in 1966 to make way for a new city post office.
