As a successful practitioner of medicine and surgery in this city for a period of forty years, except when in the army, we notice Dr. James D. Robison. Dr.Robison was born in this city in a house then located at the corner of Buckeye and North St, settled here in 1820, his parents having come from Franklin county, and settled here in 1813. When he had but little more than obtained his majority, Dr. Robison graduated with honors from the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, in 1843. In 1846 he entered the 3rd Regiment of the Ohio Infantry, Colonel Curtis commanding, as surgeon he was subsequently transferred to the 3rd III. Regiment where he served during the Mexican War. In 1860, qt the out breaking of the War of the Rebellion, he entered into the 16th O.V.I. as a surgeon, and was soon promoted to Brigade surgeon, under the command of General Shields. In 1863 Dr. Robison was compelled to resign in consequence of his wife's health. Shortly after his return home he was commissioned as the surgeon of the 14th congressional district of this state, as examining surgeon of drafted men, where he was retained by the government to the close of the war when he again resumed his civil practice.
