Dr. Elias Compton
Dr. Elias Compton was for many years an educator at Wooster College. He and his wife, Othelia Compton, were the parents of three nationally known sons, Karl, Wilson and Arthur, who were all famous educators. In 1927 Arthur received the Nobel prize in Physics. Mary, the only daughter, is married to Herbert Rice. They served under the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions in Allahabad, India and for many years Dr. Rice was President of Forman Christian College at Lehore, India.
