Andrew Guarnieri was born in Italy towards the end of the 19th century. [1] By 1906, Mr. Guarnieri, whose name was also occasionally spelled Guarneiri, had opened a shop at 3 E. Liberty St. [2] In this shop, one could find various kinds of fruits and candies, as well as a soda fountain. This business stayed in operation until sometime after 1911, when Mr. Guarnieri relocated to the Cleveland [3] and then Warren [4], Ohio area.
