Welcome to the WCPL Genealogy and Local History Department!

The Wayne County Public Library's Genealogy and Local History Department can trace our ancestry back to 1953 when the Wooster-Wayne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) indicated an interest in housing family histories and other resources of genealogical value in the Wooster Library. We started with a small collection of Family Histories and Wayne County information. We have grown to include publications on north and northcentral Ohio; northeastern Indiana, central and northcentral West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Other states of interest include Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.

To request information, you may email us at the address above, or fill out our online request form.
