Comprehensive History
United Presbyterian Congregation located in Dalton was established between 1816 and 1820. Members met in private homes and a tent erected on the farm of James Douglas. In 1828 a log church was built and in 1838 a frame building was erected in Dalton. Another building was erected in 1871. Sources found for this church were History of Wayne County Ohio, Ben Douglas, 1878, page 848, History of Wayne County, Ohio, B.F. Bowen & Co., 1910, Vol. 1, page 264 and Wooster Daily Record, 6 Sep 1948.
