Thomas Rogers (1771-1848)
Thomas Rogers was born 12 August 1771, a native of Dublin, Ireland. Thomas married Mary Hatfield. Thomas Rogers and his wife Mary had three sons: John Rogers (1797-1869), Samuel Rogers (1799-___) and George Rogers (1800-___). Thomas died the 19 August 1848 at the age of 77 years. His wife, Mary born in 1771 died the 25 October 1852. She was 75 years old at the time of her death. Thomas and Mary Rogers were buried in the old part of the Fredericksburg Cemetery in Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio. Thomas Rogers purchased the northwest quarter section 14 of Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio. He was listed in the 1820 US Census for Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio and in the 1826 Wayne County Tax List. The Tax list shows that he owned 2 horses, 3 cows, and 160 acres valued at $353.
