The business started in 1922 and continued to grow. In 1924 a building was purchased next to the bank, and remolded, installing a large coke oven. Two new trucks were added hauling bread, rolls, and cakes all over the county. An additional baker and drivers were needed to meet the demand. Some of the drivers included: Earl Hines, Kermit Leiby, Dale Sparr, Lorenzo Leiby, and Mr. Twining.
