Comprehensive History
Built in 1867, this house was the home of Peter Rich, founder of an early Milton Township industry, the Rich Brewery (the first manufacturing industry in the township). Located at the junction of Routes 504 and 59, west of Rittman, the house provided not only a home for the Rich family but also a lodging place for some of the brewery employees as well as the place they were fed.[1]
