"Jan. 16- Canaan Grange is in a flourishing condition, many new members coming in and old ones being revived. Last Saturday evening was a gala day. The Grange Hall was well filled. To see the tables loaded with good things one would hardly suppose there was hard times. After a sumptuous dinner, the officers for this year were duly installed. The Rev. L. C. Edmonds read a very interesting and instructive paper. After this well-spent day we feel that it is "good to be a granger and with the grangers stand.""
