"Eagle House Wooster, Wayne Co. O. The subscriber respectfully informs the public that he has taken the above named well known and long established Tavern Stand, formerly kept by Mr. J. Hemperly, situated on the corner of Market and South Streets, in the village of Wooster, Wayne County, Ohio, where he will at all times be in readiness to receive the calls of travelers and others.
The Eagle House has lately undergone thorough repairs, and is furnished in an elegant and comfortable manner; which, together with its superior location. (at the point where the new eastern road intersects the Cleveland Turnpike,) renders it decidedly the most convenient stopping place for travelers on either road.
The Table and Bar of the Eagle House shall not be excelled by any, and the rooms and beds will be kept in good order. In short, it is the determination of the subscriber, that nothing shall be wanting on his part, again to render the Eagle House, what it formerly was for many years, one of the best public houses in the western country.
The Zanesville line of Stages, stop at this house where seats may be secured in any of the numerous lines which leave the place. The extensive Yard and Stables are convenient, and the accommodations for wagoners, movers and drovers are unsurpassed.
A few Boarders can be accommodated at the Eagle House. Wooster, Nov. 10, 1837. L. Cross."
