The Lutz Bros. Pickling and Preserving Works, Creston, was built in 1894. In the Wooster Daily Republican, it mentions the Lutz Bros. pickling establishment of Allegheny, PA purchased 7 1/2 acres of land located "east of the Creston Land Co.'s property, between the B. & O. and Nypano railroads". A follow up article in the Wooster Republican on 9 May 1894 p. 3 indicated the building would be finished in May 1894. About one year later, the company had plans to erect a 512,000 storage house at Main and Cherry Streets (Wooster Republican 12 June 1895 p. 6). Photo of Lutz Bros. of Creston, Ohio may be found in Picturesque Wayne on page 118.
