Comprehensive History
Located in the west part of the Pioneer Cemetery on Gish Road on the northeast edge of Rittman, this house was built by Jacob Gish to replace the log house which he had built and lived in when he first came to Milton Township. The large brick structure is a prime example of the architecture found in homes of the 19th century. Remaining in the family continuously from 1830 to 1975-6, when it was occupied by Evangeline Gish Olinger, the house was restored and moved to its current location in 1976.[1]
