Harry Gerlach

AUSTIN, Texas - Private interment of the cremains of Harry M. Gerlach, 93, of Austin, Texas, will be June 3, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the family plot in Wooster Cemetery. The memorial service will be conducted by members of Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity.

Mr. Gerlach passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at his residence in Westminster Manor in Austin, where he had been a resident since 1970.

He was born Sept. 20, 1908 in Wooster to Frank and Florence (McClarran) Gerlach. He was a graduate of Wooster High School in 1926 and Miami University of Oxford in 1930.

Mr. Gerlach's entire career was devoted to higher education standards and administration. He was a former director of admissions at Miami University and retired from College Testing Company.

He was a lifelong member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, active in community affairs and a member of Downtown Austin Kiwanis.

Mr. Gerlach is survived by cousins Mary McClarran of Sun City, Ariz.; Harry S. McClarran of Wooster; Charles McClarran of West Bend, Wis; Laura Ann Norfleet of Roanoke, Va.; Dr. George F. Wertenberger of Sandusky and Robert O. and William C. Wertenberger of Wooster.

He was proceed in in death by his parents and a sister, Mary.

Interment arrangements are being handled by McIntire Davis & Greene Funeral Home.
