Robert Horn decided to open the restaurant and name Green Leaf Restaurant after Green Thumb Floral, the business previously located in the Green Leaf's spot, and a Canadian maple leaf because he enjoyed traveling to Canada to fish. During the early days, Green Leaf was not located in the city limits. [1]
