MANY RARE SPECIMENS

Added to the Public Library Museum by James Mullins

We have already made mention of the fact that James Mullins, Esq., recently made another valuable donation to the museum in the Wooster Public Library. The collection, a most attractive one, has just been placed n the cases and is now permanently installed on the second floor of the building. We give below the number of the cases and the numbers of each specimen. The list will be found of especial value to the student:

Case No. 1.—No. 8. Bagan lizard, 5½ feet long; 9, flying dog; 10., alligator America; 12, trush; 18. tropical; 14, tropical; 15, blackbird; 16, forktailed blackbird; 17, gallinule.

Case No 2.—No. 1, flying dog, heropas eduis: 2. east bittern; 3, night hawk; 4, sparrow hawk; 5, sparrow hawk; 6, little owl; 7, greenbacked dove; 8, robin; 9, robin; 10, nutach; 11, woodpecker; 12, virio; 18, finch; 14, oriole; 15, oriole; 17, whitewinged blackbird. 18, virio; 19, virio; 20, bluebird; 21, white and black finch; 22, spotted finch.

Case No. 3.—No. 1, egret; 2. least bit tern; 3, galinale; 4, tandpiper; 5, least snipe; 6. tern; 7, blue-backed ring-fisher; 8, spotted ringfisher; 9, least kingfisher; 10, red-backed woodpecker; 11, black cuckoo; 14, forktailed blackbird; 18, tropical; 19, bluebird; 20. virio.

Case No. 5.—No. 1, rebben tetrao; 2, ruff tringa; 3. black woodpecker; 4, gray woodpecker; 5, spotted woodpecker; 6, blue crack; 7, bee eater; 8, red foot falcon: 9, red foot falcon; 10. sparrow hawk; 11, red-backed shrike- 12. ringfsher; 18, bullfinsh; 14, bull finch; 15, mountanfinsh; 16, goldbunt; ing: 17, greening; 18, field sparrow; 19, large titmouse; 20, blue titmouse; 21, wren; 24, titmouse; 25, brown creeper.

Case N. 6.—No. 1. elder duck; 2. white-winged scoter; 3, surf scoter: 4. old squaw: 5. old squaw: 6. buffle head xharitoneta; 7, buffle head charitoucta.

Case No. 7. –No. 7, herring gull; 8, herring gall; 9. lauching gull: 16. common tern: 11. least tern, East India; 12, Bonaparte gull.

Case No. 8—No.1 snowy owl: 2, great horned owl: 3. barred owl; 4, short eared owl; 5. long eared owl; 6, saw-whet owl; 7. screech owl.

Case No. 9. –No. 1. loon: 2. double crested cormorant; 3. double- crested cormorant; 4, horned grebe; 5, horned grebe: 6. pled billed grebe.

Case No. 10.—No. 1, blue heron: 2. green heron: 3. American bittern: 4, least bittern; 5, least bittern; 6. belted kingfisher; 7, Leited kingfisher.
