MUNICIPAL LIBRARY IS NOW A FACT
Efforts to form a municipal library in Shreve which have extended over the past two years were finally successful this week., the newly formed board taking over the old Shreve Library Association which has for many years been maintained here by the efforts of public spirited men and women of the village.
The Shreve Library Association was founded for the purpose of aiding the schools and furnishing much needed reading matter to the public. Aided by village funds the institution had prospered and enlarged until it was necessary for a change to be made so that its growth would not be retarded and, if possible, larger and more permanent quarters could be secured.
The following men and women are the trustees of the new Municipal Library: Mrs. O.B. Parsons, Mrs. C.M. Trunkey, Mrs. Maybelle Shelley, G.B. Lovett, W.H. Carl, and J.C. Christy.
This board will organize and under its officers proceed to direct the business of the library.
Plans for the future of the library will be announced form time to time and now that its future is secure, citizens generally express appreciation for the solving of the many difficulties that presented themselves during the transfer of the affairs of the library to the present set-up.
