Article title No More Pies On Wednesday

"No More Pies on Wednesday. Judge C. A. Weiser and Mayor Forbes Alcock, in short addresses on Friday evening, explained to restaurant men the necessity for co-operating in the meatless and wheatless regulations announced by the food administration.

It was found that the men had been following the instructions, although not in exactly the same manner. This was eliminated through the meeting. Tuesday is to be meatless day and Wednesday wheatless day. Not even pies will be served Wednesday, because of the flour involved in their making.

Practically all of the restaurant and hotel men of the city were present at the meeting, which was held at the office of County Auditor Chas. Schenf. The meeting was decidedly friendly one, featured by the desire of the men to do their part in food conservation."
