The house located at 1043 Quinby Ave. was built in 1919 by contractor J.C. Smythe who drew the plans according to the wishes of property owner Julius T. Keister. Smythe reported that Keister requested a bungalow with a stucco veneer and two rooms upstairs, known among architects at the time as a semi-bungalow.
