The genealogy and local history collection includes two types of family records: (1) Unpublished family papers and (2) Published family histories.
- Unpublished family papers are not complete family files. They are only fragments of family information. The information found in these files are submitted from researchers and occasionally from staff members. The amount of information can vary from one document to many documents, depending on what has been submitted. All papers in the same file are not necessarily related to the same family. The accuracy of the information found in these files is not guaranteed by the library.
- Published family histories include a compilation of information organized in such a way that it could be an actual publication. The library is unable to purchase family histories. We do encourage researchers to donate their family histories to our department.
Donations are welcomed. If you would like to submit papers to our family paper files or a published family history to the collection, please send via genealogy@wcpl.info or by mailing the information to:
