Comprehensive History
The Wooster Museum was founded in 1904 by Mr. George J. Schwartz, whose service as curator extended until 1924. A gift of $50,000 was made by Andrew Carnegie through the efforts of Mr. Schwartz for the construction of the Wooster Library whose second floor housed the Museum[1].
