Wayne County Genealogical Society Programs

The Wayne County Genealogical Society holds a business meeting four times a year. Programs will be held at the Wayne County Public Library in Wooster, Ohio at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Short business meetings will be held following each program.


January 28, 2019

  • Share Your Family Story, presented by members of WCGS
    • Wayne County Public Library, 6:30 p.m.
    • At the October 2018 meeting, Deb Kitko spoke on writing your family narrative. As a follow up to this program, the January 2019 program will give individuals the opportunity to share a story from their family.

April 29, 2019

  • Preparing for International Research, presented by Rich and Pam Blaha
    • Wayne County Public Library, 6:30 p.m.
    • In 2018, Rich and Pam Blaha traveled to Eastern Europe to research Rich's family. Rich and Pam will share how they prepared for the trip and provide some guidelines on researching in foreign countries.

July 27, 2019

  • Picnic
    • Rich and Pam Blaha's home in Red Haw.
    • The picnic will start at 4:00 p.m. Please note the change in date and time.
    • Rich and Pam will supply the main dish. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share.

September 30, 2019

  • Tour of the Agricultural Museum
    • The Agricultural Museum opened up in 2018. For the September program, we will meet at the Agricultural Museum located across from the fairgrounds in Wooster, OH.

November 9, 2019

  • Annual dinner
    • The Wayne County Genealogical Society annual dinner will be held at 4:00 p.m. The place will be announced at a later date. Please note this is a change in the date and time from most of our programs.
