Acquisition #1997.2624.001 - A 1669 Bible published in French by Elzeviers of Amsterdam. Plate on cover bearing date 1834 was affixed to bible at a later date. Brought to the United States by the great grandfather of Louis Beckler. Donor was Mrs. Louis Beckler. Number of documents inserted in bible, among them a letter from the Library of Congress, dated Jan. 13, 1950 written to Mrs. Louis Beckler about the printing of the bible.
