According to the obituary [1] for Dr. Effa/Ella (Funk) Muhse, she was the first women to be granted a PhD from the University of Indiana. She was the organizer of the National women's Party in a campaign for votes in Illinois and Idaho. She traveled with her husband throughout the world. She co-authored numerous published articles.
