The Genealogy and Local History Department can trace our ancestry back to 1953 when the Wooster-Wayne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) indicated an interest in housing family histories and other resources of genealogical value in the Wooster Library.  We started with a small collection of Family Histories and Wayne County information.  We have grown to include publications on north and northcentral Ohio; northeastern Indiana, central and northcentral West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Other states of interest include Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.
