THE LONG LOST ARE FOUND.

The Two Kennedy Brothers Discover Their Mother and Sister.

Joseph Stoudenheimer, who lives 2 1/2 miles southwest of Wooster, is subscriber of the DEMOCRAT, and through that medium was enabled to unite members of a family long separated and unknown to each other.

Thereby hangs a tale, wherein it shown that there are experiences in real life equaling the romance of imaginative fiction.

In these columns last week was published an article that James Kennedy, of Parker City, Indiana, had called at this office and asked the aid of the press to find the whereabouts of long lost mother and sister. He stated that, while much about his family was unknown to him, he was born in Wooster, 39 years ago. Shortly after that his parents, Robert and Eliza Kennedy, returned to Pennsylvania from whence they came. Two children were born to them there, a son Joseph and daughter Mary Ann. Trouble ensued between husband and wife, and they separated in Pennsylvania, the cause thereof the son never knew.

About 32 years ago the mother came back to Wooster with the three little children. The mother was unable to support them, and they were sent to the Wayne County Infirmary, where they were cared for until homes were provided for them, each going to different families to be raised. The mother about this time married in Wooster a man named John Poorman, and whether she is living or dead the son did not know, as he had no knowledge of her since he was taken to the Infirmary. He never heard anything about his father since the separation in Pennsylvania.

The son james remained a while in Wayne County, and then, when a lad 12 years old, he went away, living here and there, finally locating in Parker, Indiana, where he is married and successful in the dairy business.

He said he often thought of comin back to Wayne to look up his mother and brother and sister, but postponed it from time to time, something turning up to prevent his coming, 27 years thus passing away without he knowing anything about his relatives, or thy of him. Finally the desire to learn something about them impelled him to make investigation, and accordingly he came here about a week before he called at this office.

He made diligent inquiry, and was rejoiced to find that his brother, Joseph Kennedy, was alive and well, a single man living for the past 13 years with Rush Reese, in Canaan township. He went to see him, and the identification of the brothers was made clear. It was a glad reunion. Joseph had no idea that James was living, and could give no information about their sister Mary or their mother.

THE DENOUMENT--MOTHER AND SISTER FOUND. The DEMOCRAT was duly received by the Stoudenheimer family, and the article read.Immediately came the happy denouement, Mrs. Stoudenheimer was herself the long lost sister. She at once wrote to her brother Joseph at Canaan, who received the letter last Thursday, and went to see her Friday. It was a reunion to be imagined. Her age is 36 years. When a child she went to live with the family of R. P. Reddick, north of Wooster, then with an Ebright family south of town, and afterwards at various places until 13 years ago she married Mr. Stoudenheimer, near Nashville, Holmes county, and has a family of nine children. She did not know her brothers were living, and years ago had heard that Joseph had died near Fredericksburg.

The welcome information was given Joseph by the sister that their mother was alive and well, residing in Canton, No. 617 Sandal street, where she visited her last New Year's day. John Poorman left her several years ago, and at last accounts he was living in Cleveland. She has two sons and a daughter by the second husband, all highly respecting her, she making her home with one of the sons. Robert Kennedy, the first husband, was reported years ago as having been killed in a coal mine accident in Pennsylvania.

The discovery of his sister and mother was communicated to James, and he will come again from Indiana, and the two brothers and sister will visit their mother in Canton.
