Tuesday Morning 9 o'clock March 5th 1816 Oliver Jones, Samuel Mitchel, and Robert McClaran Esq Commissioners met pursuant to adjournment– ON the petition of a number of inhabitants of Wayne County praying to be struck off into a separate distinct Township it is ordered that the township be struck off to be bounded as follows to wit Beginning at the North East corner of Township No. 16 Range 11 thence North along the Range line to the South East corner of Township No. 18 thence West to the corner of Township No. 17-18 in the Twelfth Range thence south to the North West corner of township No. 16 thence East to the place of beginning to be known by the Name Baughman Township that Notice given to the Electors of said Towwnship to meet at the house of George Herman on the first Monday of April at 11 o'clock AM of said day for the purpose of Electing Township officers.
