United States Land Patent to John McConnell, assignee of ?unreadable? Stidger for Range 12, Township 16, Section 09 SE QRT in Wayne County Ohio.
Notation along with deed states: John McConnell was an "Orangeman" from northern Ireland. He was one of the first two merchants in Canton, Ohio. He came to Wayne County, Ohio in 1814 and taught school at Center District on the old site of the Apple Creek State Institution. The deed was donated to the Wooster Museum in 1942-JUN-09.
Original land patent held by the Wayne County Historical Society of Ohio.
