The house located at 822 Quinby Ave. was built in 1911 in the Foursquare architectural style by property owner Clinton L. Hollopeter. However, it's most widely known has the former residence of Thomas E. Steiner, the founder of Bauer Manufacturing Co. who, along with his wife Laura, bought the house and moved in sometime during 1919 and the Steiner's would live at 822 Quinby Ave. for the next 41 years. Thomas E. Steiner died on August 16, 1955 at 86-years-old. His wife, Laura, continued to live at 822 Quinby Avenue until she could no longer care for herself and briefly lived at a Dayton-area rest home where she died in April 12, 1960.
